This week, we chat with indie rock dude, Hansaa, who tells us about the "best decision he ever made", speaks on his new single 'Primavera' - which followed his highly successful debut, 'Need to Know' - and we find out that there is no chance in hell that we'll ever catch this guy wearing socks and sandals.
How did you first get into the music game?
I quit college and moved to California to study music production. Best decision I have ever made.
How did it feel to receive over 100,000 streams on your debut single Need To Know?
It felt awesome, especially as an indie artist. It was so sick to see the song hit the Spotify Viral 50 Charts in Australia with Due Lipa and the Beibs. I think I was there for four days
What’s the story behind your latest track Primavera?
In a nutshell, it is about trying to reignite the spark of an old relationship however coming to that conclusion that nothing is going to ignite.
"Everything revolves around karma and I want to see people with a great vision succeed."
Describe your favourite place in the world.
Los Angeles - the creativity in the city is palpable and it is such a great place to be if you are trying to enter the creative field. Love Santa Monica, Melrose, Venice and Silverlake. All totally different cultures.
Other than your music, what fuels you creatively?
I love to cook. I feel as if I am really good at improvising with stuff when there is not much in the fridge.
What’s the best song to listen to when you’re feeling sorry for yourself?
Brain - Banks - Her voice makes me feel some type of way.
When was the last time that you had a brilliant idea (and what was it?)
Helping my other producer buddies meet people I know. Everything revolves around karma and I want to see people with a great vision succeed. It just makes me happy when I can help others out.

Quick Fire Round
Socks and sandals, yay or nay?
How many Apple products do you own?
Two. iPhone and laptop. (Ed's note: and by the looks of it, a blast from the past I-pod).
What’s the last movie that you saw and hated?
The recent movie about tupac. All eyez on me. Long, really uneventful and boring.
What’s the last song that you listened to that made your heart thump?
Meet Ur Maker - Shlohmo . I just really like the song, and its combination of texture, melody and mood.
What’s the last thing that made you angry?
If you were a flavour of ice-cream, what would you be?
Which South Park character do you resonate with the most?
Cartman, I just love saying ignorant things.
