Apple Sauce Stuffed French Toast

We’ve heard it time and time again, don’t judge a book by its cover, but when it comes to food, this is easier said than done. You can’t deny that there is something unconsciously appealing about the ooziness of a chocolate molten lava cake or the stringy melted cheese on top of a pizza. So when I made this video expecting an ooze of apple sauce encased in crispy eggy bread I was a little bit disappointed to see that the ooze factor didn’t happen. The apple sauce filling, for the most part, soaked into the bread making the final scene a little bit underwhelming.

BUT looks are not everything. As soon as I bit into the crispy exterior and tasted the apple-pie-esque flavour in the centre I knew I’d made a winner.

In tribute to those viral sensations who make filming cooking videos look so easy, here’s an underwhelming take on how to make apple-sauce stuffed french toast. I promise it tastes better than it looks.
